![]() *it'd be 925/1375 on a non-factory OC'd model It's an original 7970 with higher TDP for the GPU (216W +/- 20%, instead of a "GHz"/280X's 204W), but a single base 3D clock at 1000/1400*. This isn't a later "GHz" or 280x with base 850Mhz 3D + 1000MHz 3D boost clock at higher voltage, that is only used until max TDP is met. When the bug happens under Chrome with HW accel, it'll still raise to 3D clocks (edit: most probably it's not "3D clock" as Romulus_ut3 pointed, but the highest UVD clock which is coincidentally the same for this card) if needed while playing video over regular UVD or gaming (while ignoring a 3D OC on top of it), but it'll refuse to go down to 300/150 when idling and no app is using the GPU until a restart. By disabling HW accel under Chrome the card will remain at 300/150, but then it relies solely on the CPU for video playback and it'll skip a lot on 60fps YT htlm5 videos (mostly game replays) because ancient CPU.Įdit: To clarify it further, the card is never completely "stuck" at UVD's 501/1400 clock. ![]() So yours is getting stuck at 500mhz when it actually needs 850 or full boost during video play back? ![]()
